ABOUT

Fondazione Aurora is an Italian non-profit organisation that brings together professionals with experience in the field of international cooperation (and beyond) whose mission is to support African enterprises that are facing challenges related to the lack of access to public and private funds and the consolidation of their activities.

We believe that we can contribute to the 2030 and 2063 Agendas by adopting a participatory approach and fully respecting ownership. Not only does our work consist of providing financial allocations, but especially on providing operational models and ad hoc expertise. Our interventions aim at creating, without any cost for the targeted enterprises and entrepreneurs, a capital, knowledge and technology asset to consolidate business activities.

Why Africa

With a median age of 19 – 42 in Europe – Africa will be home to 20% of the world’s population, 70% of whom are of working age, reaching a number of about 2 billion people by 2050. In the context of the “Next Production Revolution” young Africans stand out for being technology and innovation prone.
Technological innovation, characterised by technopoles, leapfrogging and digitalisation, are key aspects of the new age of entrepreneurship that is transforming the African economy, and, therefore, they constitute a strategic lever for a transformative social process.
In 2050, only 4% of the world population will be European. Considering the geographical proximity, the cultural and historical link, and recognizing the specificity of different African countries, it is essential to establish new economic and social systems. Diasporas are privileged actors in such process.
